James & Michael Wedding - Fort Gibraltar

James and Michael’s wedding at Fort Gibraltar was a celebration of love set against a backdrop of history and charm. The day began with the couple getting ready together at the elegant Fort Garry Hotel. We took full advantage of the stunning surroundings with creative flash photography, capturing the anticipation and excitement of their preparations.

The ceremony took place at Fort Gibraltar, where an intimate gathering was held in the fort’s upper-level room. After exchanging vows, the newlyweds enjoyed a reception on the fort grounds with appetizers and drinks. A highlight of the day was their grand entrance, which featured a striking 5-man gun salute—a unique and memorable way to mark their union as husband and husband.

Following the ceremony, we explored the fort and its scenic surroundings for some stunning photos. Although our time in the lush, treed area down by the river was brief due to the peak mosquito season, the natural beauty of the setting still provided a wonderful backdrop for their portraits.

We then ventured to the Esplanade Riel footbridge for additional photos. James and Michael shared that despite their years together and many travels, they had only a few photos of themselves as a couple. We were delighted to capture these special moments, adding to their collection of cherished memories.

The evening concluded with a small, intimate reception at their home, where they celebrated with close family and friends over a heartfelt dinner. The day was a perfect blend of historical charm, personal touches, and unforgettable moments.

James and Michael’s wedding at Fort Gibraltar was a beautiful testament to their love. It was an honor to be part of their special day, capturing the joy and elegance of their union.
