Megan & Jeff Wedding - Longbow Lake, Ontario
Megan and Jeff's wedding at Longbow Lake, Ontario, was a beautiful testament to their love and adaptability. Originally planned for a larger gathering, the couple faced the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic by moving their celebration to Jeff’s family lakefront lot. This picturesque location, rich with memories for Jeff and now for Megan, offered an intimate and meaningful setting for their special day.
The day began at Shear Heaven Salon in Kenora, where Megan, her maid of honour, and her mom enjoyed pampering and preparation. Meanwhile, Joel captured moments with Jeff and his family as they prepared for the big event. The excitement grew as Megan and her bridal party arrived at Jeff’s family home, ready to get dressed and celebrate with a bit of bubbly before heading to the lake.
When we arrived at Longbow Lake, the scene was serene with calm waters and a beautiful setting for the ceremony. Megan and Jeff exchanged heartfelt vows and performed a soil potting ritual to honor loved ones. Just as we began family photos, the weather took an unexpected turn. Rain started to fall, quickly escalating to a downpour. Undeterred, guests and the wedding party took shelter under a white canopy tent, waiting for the storm to pass. The rain eventually cleared, leaving behind even more stunning scenery as the colors of the lake seemed to intensify.
The reception followed under twinkling string lights, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal and heartfelt toasts to the newlyweds. Megan and Jeff’s wedding photos were taken just a short distance from the reception site, making the most of the lush surroundings. One highlight was the floating dock Jeff built specifically for the occasion, where we captured mesmerizing shots of the couple appearing to stand on water.
As the day wound down, Megan and Jeff suggested a boat ride to a nearby island—a place where Jeff had fond childhood memories of jumping off cliffs with his cousins. The bridal party joined in for the adventure, which ended with a splash as Jeff’s cousin leaped into the lake, bringing a touch of nostalgia to the celebration.
Returning to the cabin as the sun set, the property was ready for a lively dance party. The cousins, friends, and family danced the night away under the string lights, creating new memories and celebrating the union of Megan and Jeff.
