Beth & Nathan Love Story - Stonewall Quarry Park

When Beth and Nathan suggested Stonewall Quarry Park for their engagement session, we were intrigued and excited by the opportunity to explore a new location. As a Winnipeg wedding photographer, it's always thrilling to discover a new spot to capture a couple’s love story, and Stonewall Quarry Park did not disappoint.

Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the unique landscape. The jagged cut rocks and sparse greenery gave the area a striking resemblance to the Vegas desert, an unexpected but delightful surprise. The rugged beauty of the quarry provided a stunning backdrop for Beth and Nathan's engagement photos. We timed the session perfectly during golden hour, when the warm light beautifully accentuated the natural textures of the quarry, casting a soft glow over the couple.

Beth chose a simple white sundress for the session, which perfectly complemented the natural tones of the quarry. Nathan's all-black ensemble created a striking contrast, making them stand out against the rugged backdrop. Their style choices were spot-on, and we couldn’t have asked for a better pairing of outfits with the setting.

After capturing some incredible moments at the quarry, we headed to a nearby sunflower field owned by Beth's family friends. This location was the perfect spot for some playful, carefree shots. Beth swapped her sundress for a casual outfit and added a trendy floppy hat, bringing a fun and laid-back vibe to this part of the session. We captured some spontaneous and joyful moments, including piggyback rides and laughter-filled shots that highlighted their chemistry and connection.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to Beth’s family home in Stonewall for the final part of the engagement session. The property was a photographer's dream, with a classic red barn, a tire swing, and beautifully manicured trees. Although the light was fading fast and the summer mosquitos were making their presence known, we managed to capture some sweet, intimate moments that rounded out their love story perfectly. The evening light added a soft, romantic feel to the photos, making the session all the more memorable.

Beth and Nathan’s engagement session was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The combination of thoughtfully chosen locations, well-coordinated outfits, and their undeniable connection made for a series of photos that truly tell their love story. Stonewall Quarry Park has now become one of our favorite spots for engagement photos, and we can’t wait to return with other couples looking for something unique and beautiful.
