Margrett & Ingih Styled Love Story - Iceland
When it comes to capturing unforgettable moments, few places rival the stunning landscapes of Iceland. As a Winnipeg wedding photographer, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in this majestic environment during a recent trip. Among the highlights were two styled shoots that truly showcased the rugged beauty of Iceland, and Margrett and Ingih’s elopement session was a standout.
We embarked on this adventure with Margrett and Ingih, a couple whose romantic chemistry was palpable and inspiring. Their love story unfolded against the dramatic Icelandic backdrop, creating photos that are nothing short of magical. Our journey began with exploring the “secret” spots around Skogafoss and Vik, which turned out to be perfect settings for their elopement shoot.
In true Icelandic fashion, we navigated the landscape in a Landrover Defender, which proved to be both practical and adventurous. The weather was a mix of chilly winds and unpredictable rain, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the shoot. But despite the elements, Margrett and Ingih embraced the conditions with grace and enthusiasm, which made our job so much easier and more enjoyable.
Our first stop was the iconic Skogafoss waterfall, where the sheer power and beauty of the cascading water set a breathtaking scene. The mist from the falls created a dreamy atmosphere, perfectly complementing Margrett and Ingih’s elegant yet adventurous attire. We captured them in intimate moments against the backdrop of the roaring falls, resulting in images that exude both passion and serenity.
Next, we ventured to the dramatic cliffs and black sand beaches near Vik. The contrast of the dark sand against the couple’s attire was striking, and the jagged rock formations provided an almost otherworldly backdrop. As Margrett and Ingih strolled along the shoreline, the crashing waves and rugged coastline added a sense of timeless romance to their elopement photos.
Throughout the shoot, we were supported by a talented team that helped bring our vision to life. The workshop, led by Jane & Tony Iskra, offered invaluable insights and inspiration. Daria Inventazh, the planner, ensured that everything ran smoothly and that we had access to the most picturesque locations. Our trusty vehicle, provided by Isak 4x4 Rental, was essential for navigating the diverse Icelandic terrain.
