Kira & Kyle Wedding - The Gates on Roblin

Kira and Kyle's New Year’s Eve wedding was the perfect celebration to close out the year. With a crisp winter day, a dreamy snowy backdrop, and a beautiful mix of indoor and outdoor locations around Winnipeg, their day was truly magical. As Winnipeg wedding photographers, we were thrilled to be part of such a unique and intimate celebration.

Kira’s day started in a suite at The Fort Garry Hotel, a Winnipeg landmark known for its classic charm and elegance. She got ready in a space filled with excitement and anticipation, with her Marilyn Monroe-esque hairstyle and striking red lipstick that set the tone for the day. Meanwhile, Kyle and his groomsmen prepared in a cozy house in Lindenwoods, building up the fun and camaraderie before the big reveal.

Their first look took place at Cibo Waterfront Café, an ideal location for a blend of modern and rustic vibes. We found creative spots in and around the restaurant for some stunning portraits. With the temperature dipping low, we had to stay warm in between shots, but Kira and Kyle handled it like pros. The winter chill couldn’t put a damper on the energy of the day. After all, it was New Year’s Eve!

Next, we made a quick stop at the Mere Hotel, taking advantage of their lobby for a few more intimate indoor photos. Winnipeg’s winter weather can be unpredictable, but having indoor spots like the Mere Hotel in your plan makes all the difference for a winter wedding. From there, we ventured across the street to James Avenue Pumphouse, where the wedding party could enjoy a drink and warm up while we snuck in a few more photos of the happy couple.

The real showstopper of the day was the outdoor ceremony at The Gates on Roblin. Despite the freezing temperatures, Kira and Kyle were set on tying the knot in the snow. Kira’s red bouquet and lipstick popped brilliantly against the winter white backdrop, giving the whole scene an almost fairytale-like quality. To keep everyone cozy, the couple thoughtfully arranged a hot chocolate bar and blankets for their guests, while musicians played by the fire, setting a truly enchanting atmosphere as Kira walked down the aisle.

Once the ceremony wrapped up, the festivities moved indoors, where the warmth of The Gates provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable reception. As guests mingled, laughed, and danced, the newlyweds kicked off the New Year’s Eve party, with celebrations continuing late into the night.

Kira and Kyle’s wedding was the perfect blend of cozy and elegant, embracing the best of Winnipeg’s winter charm. From intimate indoor venues like Cibo Restaurant and Mere Hotel, to stunning outdoor moments at The Gates on Roblin, their New Year’s Eve wedding was a beautiful way to celebrate their love and start the new year as husband and wife.
